The short version: Tuckle keeps your budget on your phone. We don't ask for a bank login, we don't have accounts, we don't run ads, and we don't sell your data. Your pockets, income, and transactions never leave your device — we can't see them. What we do collect is anonymous information about which parts of the app people use and when it breaks, so we can make it better.
Tuckle is a local-first app. Everything you enter — your income, pockets (envelopes), goals, and transactions — is stored only on your device. We do not have servers that receive, store, or have access to your financial data. There is no bank connection and no sign-in.
This is enforced in the app's code, not simply promised: any attempt to send a monetary amount, a balance, an income figure, a pocket name, a note or a merchant off your device is blocked before it leaves.
If you start a free trial or subscribe to Tuckle Premium, the purchase is handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details.
To manage entitlements (i.e. to know whether your subscription is active), we use RevenueCat, Inc. as our subscription infrastructure provider. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID along with your subscription/transaction status and basic device information (such as device model and OS version). This data is used solely to deliver and validate your subscription. It is not linked to your name and is not used for advertising. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
We use PostHog to understand how people move through the app, so we can find the screens that confuse people and fix them.
PostHog receives structural events only: which onboarding step you reached, which screen you were on, which feature you used, whether a paywall was shown, and whether you started a trial. Where a count is useful we send a range rather than a number — for example "3–5 pockets", never "4".
PostHog never receives your income, your balances, the amounts in your pockets, what you named them, your notes, or where you spent your money. Automatic screen-and-tap capture is switched off, and session recording is switched off.
These events are tied to the same randomly generated, anonymous ID used for your subscription. There is no account, and we never send your name, email address or phone number — the app never asks for them. PostHog processes this data on servers in the European Union. See posthog.com/privacy.
If something in the app goes wrong, we send an error report to PostHog so that we can fix it. The report contains the type of error, a short description of it, and whether it stopped the app. Descriptions are cleaned before they are sent: anything resembling a monetary amount or a long number is replaced with a placeholder, and the text is truncated.
Separately, if the app crashes at the operating-system level, anonymous, aggregated diagnostic information provided by Apple may be shared with us through your device settings (you can control this under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements). That contains no personal or financial data.
If you found Tuckle through an advert on the App Store, Apple provides us with an anonymous attribution token so we can tell which advert brought you here and whether advertising is worth continuing. This token comes from Apple, is not linked to your identity, and is not combined with data about you from anywhere else.
It is not used to show you adverts — Tuckle contains no advertising — and it is not shared with any advertising network or data broker.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or resale, and we do not share it with third parties except the providers named in this policy.
Because your budget data lives on your device, you can delete all of it at any time from Settings → Reset inside the app, or by deleting the app. Records held by Apple, RevenueCat and PostHog are governed by their respective policies; you can request deletion of data held by RevenueCat or PostHog by contacting us at the email below.
Tuckle is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
